Hi:
Will you be offering any Workshop: Introduction to Rhino Modeling classes on, the East coast New England Area (MASS.RI.CT.)?
I’m currently an unemployed Yacht Design Engineer / Production Marine Engineer and cant get a Job with just AutoCAD (2004) 2D skills. Now employment opportunities require 3D modeling skills and CAD/CAM 3D programing.
I cant afford to go back to college with two of my own children now in collage.
Help…
James,
Sorry, we will not offer any classes on the East Coast as we are the CALIFORNIA College of the Arts. You are welcome to come to the workshop out here. I would check the Rhino News website to see if there are any upcoming classes planned for your area. Good luck.
For the Intro to Rhino Modeling I assume bringing my Mac/OSX laptop running Parallels (virtuallization) and running the Rhino demo will be adequate? Or can I run the Mac/OSX Beta of Rhino for the Workshop?
Thanks in advance!
I think either would work, but I would recommend running Rhino on either bootcamp or through VMWare or Parallels. I use VMWare or Bootcamp and it works great. Bootcamp is a bit more stable probably and definitely faster.
Will you be offering a secondary Introduction to Rhino Modeling because the first workshop is sold out?
Sam,
Unfortunately, not at this time. We plan on hosting a similar set of workshops next January. Demand is very high but our space is limited. Thanks for your interest.
Hi,
I do not have bootcamp on my laptop would that be a problem when joining the class??
Sharon,
Yes, that would be a problem. You need to have either a working PC side to your mac (with the free bootcamp + windows) or you need to download the free beta version of Rhino for Mac. The beta version is, well, a beta version so it does not yet have all of the features and there are some bugs. If possible, I suggest installing bootcamp on your mac laptop.
Even though it is now too late, I would REALLY like to participate in this course. Please let me know if there any cancellations, or if extra room can be made.
Many thanks,
Charles Dilworth FAIA
CCA Adjunct Professor of Architecture
Charles,
There is already a long waiting list so unfortunately I don’t see room opening up for this workshop. We will have more in the fall and next spring and potentially a special faculty-only workshop in the early summer. We’ll let you know and thanks for your interest.
